Hello! It is my pleasure to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you better.

30 years of diverse experience in both the corporate and non-profit worlds holding senior level leadership positions and having served on multiple domestic and international boards.

Worked in an advisory capacity to CEOs and presidents who have resided on five continents.

Served a customer base comprised of business professionals across 90 countries.

Had ‘heels on the ground’ delivering projects and programs in over 30 countries.

Delivered speaking engagements in over 20 countries.

Proud to be a member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council and to have earned the Certified Association Executive credential (the highest recognition for association management).

All of my collective experiences have provided me with significant insight into how others choose to lead and the principles that remain true no matter where you are in the world…Insights that I am ready to share with you.

 

After all my observations, I am convinced that CEOs and top executives not only need to connect into professional networks but they desperately need more intimate opportunities where they can be real and open up about personal leadership challenges and tough business issues.

Think about it…there are many reasons business leaders have it tough in today’s environment:

 

  • According to CEO.com, CEOs average a 64-hour work week. And because CEOs and top executives are under “constant pressure to please a variety of stakeholders” it is no wonder there is such a high level of turnover and fatigue at the top.

 

Strong leaders are critical to business results so you must figure out how to protect yourself from key distractors.  There is an economic imperative to remain healthy and focused on inspiring your team to achieve top results.

 

  • While most people think that great leaders instill vision and build great businesses, in reality they are often side tracked spending an inordinate amount of time on talent concerns and HR challenges. As the saying goes, “Business is easy it’s the people that are hard.”

 

Truly exceptional leaders implement systems, define expectations, educate people and build communication paths that help the human side of business succeed.

 

  • We have been called upon to lead in unprecedented times navigating the Age of Disruption and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Right behind talent, I often say the next biggest stress is technology.  Yes, of course every CEO worries about elements of the strategic plan from customers to growth and revenue, but we have all been forced to think more critically about the cost of technology and equally the cost of not keeping up with technology.  And then it circles right back to the people – can I hire people who can work with the technology that I already have or will need implement to succeed tomorrow?

 

Which reminds me again; if we can’t do better with the human equation in business today then we’ve got little time and chance to master the operational objectives. 

 

  • And business must achieve more equity and diversity in leadership at the top – it shouldn’t be okay that just 6.9% of Fortune 1000 CEOs are women. In fact, in the 10 years since the World Economic Forum began measuring the economic gender gap it has narrowed by only 3% globally – that’s it, 3% - and that’s sad.

 

While we have to focus on mentoring and succession planning for all, we need to increase strategies that enable women to be better positioned to lead and succeed – it is a bottom line imperative to improve the forces of talent leading our businesses today.
